My First Trial on a Paper Roguelike

2019-02-09 — Hans-Jörg

Of the last few days I gathered a lot of notes during my train rides and while lying in bed awake on a offline dungeon crawler I want to develop. So today I tried for the first time.

Paper Miniatures of Orcs and Humans

It failed badly, which is not a bad thing! Now I have a good reason to write a little program to test different methods and random tables.

While I am sure I can find a nice dungeon generator, I am not sure at all how it will influenve the final product. Simply checking off certain things during the process would be of great help, but that contradicts my idea of making a nice little book with rules in the front and different scenarios in the back. A PDF to print’n play would probably be a better choice.

Here I am presenting some mostly random stuff I do while being creative.
